Elder/Treasurer - Chris Kretschmer

Chris and his family have been faithful partners in the Gospel with Fellowship Life since the beginning, 2011. In 2016 they nearly moved to a different area of the country so Chris transitioned out of serving as Elder Treasurer. In 2017 it became clear that he would be able to stay in the area and continue as a partner in the work of the Gospel with his family at FLBC. He and his family have continued in faithful fellowship within the church body through life groups, serving, and relationships.

We have examined Chris' life intentionally and formally over the last 9 months as an elder team. We have met with him individually, tested his character, continued to watch him shepherd his family and serve others in the church. We have interviewed Chris again about the role of elder and we have reviewed his submitted application. We find him qualified to return to the role of elder and prayerfully seek the church partners support over this next month to move him formally into the role of elder starting in May 2018.

Elder/Sr. Pastor - Ty Gooch

Ty came to know Christ at the age of 10 at a Baptist church he attended with his mother. When he went on to play college football on 2 Big Ten Championship teams at Northwestern University, he realized that though he was growing up as a man physically, he had not grown up spiritually since coming to Christ. Rather than a supreme focus on football and academics, his time at NU became centered on attending, learning from, and pouring into multiple campus ministries. After graduation, he realized he wanted to spend his life serving the Lord vocationally. In 2000 Ty married & began working for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. There after he was employed by Chicago-land mega church (from which he resigned) & Park Community Church in Chicago. Desiring to grow in biblical accuracy as a pastor, Ty attended Moody Bible Institute to receive his MDIV. He completed his doctorate through Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary out of Boston. Ty has served as the Senior Pastor of Fellowship Life Bible Church since it began in 2011. Most important to Ty is how he lives out and handles God’s word at home as a husband and father – desiring to live with his wife in an understanding way (1 Peter 3:7), and train up his children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4).
